Blind Creator Pre-Flight

Check a photo or short video before you post it — and hear the result in plain text.

Blind Creator Pre-Flight is a pre-publish check for blind and DeafBlind creators, made by Digital Dragons Inc. It runs six checks inside a simulated Instagram composer and reports each one as pass, fix, or uncertain, in words a screen reader and a braille display read directly. It never guesses a pass, and nothing is ever published, attached, or marked approved that the creator has not approved themselves.

The current public build is a web demonstration using written example media, called seeded takes. It has no upload feature and no account system. The mobile apps are still being completed; the store slots below are marked honestly until they are ready.

Before you post The six checks

  1. Framing — is the subject in the shot, and where?
  2. Crop safety — would the platform’s crop cut anything that matters?
  3. Sharpness and quality — is the take usable?
  4. Text in the image — what does any visible text say, and is it fully legible?
  5. First impression — what does a sighted viewer see first, and does it match the creator’s intent?
  6. Audio — what does the take sound like? A silent take says there is nothing to transcribe; the silence is part of the take, not a defect.

Alongside the six checks, a separate private-information warning names anything that looks private — a readable address, a document, or a screen notification, for example — before the creator posts it publicly. The warning can fire even when every check passes.

Your words stay yours Proof copy and approval

Pre-Flight drafts alt text from the creator’s own stated intent and the facts its checks verified. It also prepares proof copy: a private, speech-and-braille-ready text account of what is about to be published. The creator edits those words into their own voice and approves the exact text. Editing approved words clears the approval, so nothing silently changes after it is given.

Deterministic problems get deterministic repairs, such as a re-crop, a re-frame, an exposure adjustment, or a different cover frame. The checks run again afterward. No generative model edits the media.

The media page presents the seeded example takes used by the demonstration, with alt text for each image and a fuller visible description beneath it. If a capture a visitor would expect is not available, the page says so in a marked slot rather than filling the space with unrelated imagery.
